Galaxy Nexus Specs

Samsung Galaxy nexus is an Android based mobile phone. It was released by Google November 2011 and manufactured by Samsung. This is the third Nexus phone. Comes with dual core 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB RAM, 4.65″ HD display 720 x 1280 pixels and 16 GB of internal storage where around 13 GB is for the user and lacking of a Micro SD card slot to expand the memory. All of the Google phones are bootloader unlock capable. If you unlock the bootloader you can do further development. Installing custom ROM, using custom themes, the interface and moreover you can get the root permissions. Android is using Linux kernel to do it’s things, where we can take the advantage and run Ubuntu or Debian based Linux operating system (for advanced users).

The screen size is slightly bigger than Samsung galaxy S 2 and as well the weight. The phone was released with android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich which was a huge step forward from android 2.3 Gingerbread. Optimised system and improved graphics, the launcher got a new look. Face unlock feature was introduced with this phone and OS.

You can upgrade to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on my Galaxy Nexus. It is more faster than the Ice Cream Sandwich version and buttery smooth.

Galaxy Nexus was the first phone released with android 4.0. It has Android Beam support for simple content sharing. Very nice and slick build. They call it Simple. Beautiful. Beyond smart.
