BBM for Android and iPhone Releasing This Weekend

Blackberry has finally announced BBM for Android and iPhone officially. BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) is a famous messaging platform among a lot users around the world. BBM for Android will be available on 21st September 2013 while BBM for iPhones will release on 22nd. Over the weekend users with different smartphone OS can enjoy BBM on their device.

After Blackberry announced BBM for other mobile platforms users and fans were eagerly waiting to get this app. There were already 2 spammy app showed up in Google Play Store and a lot users downloaded them. They were using the name BBM and obviously they were fake. This time the difference is Blackberry announced it first on their blog.

Features

Along with the messaging or chat features the BBM for Android and iPhone allows you to send and receive files, share photos and set up status messages. Your friends can see your status message any time even while chatting. Using the group chat users will be able to chat with upto 30 friends. There is a unique PIN for everyone, keep yourself secured.

BBM for Android – Requirements

The Android version of BBM will run on devices running Android 4+, which is the minimum need. Ice Cream Sandwich will be last version of Android to use it and therefore moving forward with Jelly Bean. Hopefully, developers will find their way out to make it work with older versions of Android.

BBM for iPhone – Requirements

There is a minimum requirement for iOS as well. BBM for iPhones will work only on devices running iOS 6 or iOS 7 and will be available on App Store from 22nd.

Blackberry has outlined their future services, they have a plan to open up a social service network and promoting brands and more.

Update – BBM for Android & iPhone Released

Not that weekend, Blackberry released their BBM app for Android & iPhone on 21st of October 2013. After a month from the announcement.
