BBM is a great communication app for text or voice chat or sharing pictures and files. BlackBerry couldn’t release the app on time for Android and iOS users. It delayed due to an earlier leaked version. The initial version was BBM 1.0.0.70. The next update came as 1.0.0.72 with some improvements and bug fixes. There was a third update of the app to version 1.0.3.87 at the end of last month.

What’s New?

The new BBM 2.0 app updated with BBM Voice and BBM Channels. The app also requires 2 new permissions before you can install. Location and Bluetooth permissions are newly added to BlackBerry Messenger app for Android. Also, there are now 100 new emoticons.

The major update is the addition of Voice. Now you can talk to other BBM users for free using 3G or WiFi. Join conversation with other users or brands with BBM Channels. The app now supports communication with Bluetooth headphones, to keep your hands-free.

With the latest update of BBM, you can now chat up to 50 people in a BBM Group. BlackBerry expanded the capacity. Dropbox integration is another positive thing happened to the messenger.

Location sharing became easy. BlackBerry teamed up with Glympse to share your location temporarily. You can set up the expiry time for location sharing.
