Google updated Android Device Manager app to version 1.1.8 on 31st January. The new update came with a password challenge. Every time you want to use this app to find and locate your lost or stolen Android device, you need to enter your password. Optionally you can tick the option to never ask for password as well. It also, comes with some bug-fixes and performance improvements.
Ever since the Android launched there was an official lacking to find or track your Android phone. Over time 3rd party app makers and developers made apps to find your phone. Additional features added, option to ring the phone and more.
Google released the Android Device Manager app for the first time back in August 2013 for Android users. From that time, they have updated the app and included more service. You can reset your device’s screen lock PIN. You can also remotely wipe your personal data, memory by using this app. And, ring the device if you forgot where you kept your phone.
All the services are available on web and in your phone. You will be able to control and find all the devices you have under your account. You can rename your phone or tablet and give them a custom name. Easier to identify and track. If you don’t want any device to appear in the list of devices, you can change the settings for devices in Google Play store.
Android Device Manager app by Google is so far the best solution to manage and track your device. This is a must have Android app for all Android devices. The size of the app is only 1.8 MB and doesn’t take much space in your storage.
