Android One Launched in India, More Countries to Follow

Finally, cheap Google Android One smartphone launched in India today. Google talked about this phone back in I/O 2014. They are offering three Android One flavoured Karbonn Sparkle V, Micromax Canvas & Spice Dream to Indian customers. Soon, they will launch the phone to other Asian countries (Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, Nepal & Sri Lanka) by the end of this year. And to more countries in the beginning of 2015.

They are very nice smartphone compared to the price and the specs you get. The price of this Android running smartphone is around $100 – $106. But, they come with high-quality hardware. At present, they are running Android 4.4.4 KitKat and can be upgraded to Android L or other future versions when they becomes availble. The phones will receive updates with Nexus line of devices. Google officially will support updating the device for 2 years.

Android One Specification

All three models of Android One phone bears the same specs and comes with a 4.5″ IPS screen. The phones are running on MediaTek 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. They do come with 4 GB storage and have a microSD slot to add more. There is a 5MP camera at the back and 2MP camera in the front for selfie shots. These phones features dual SIM slots, FM radio and 1,700 mAh battery.

Google partnered with Acer, Airtel, Alcatel, Asus, HTC, Intex, Karbonn, Lava, Lenovo, Mediatek, Micromax, Panasonic, Qualcomm, Spice and Xolo to bring more phones in the market. We can expect some great smartphones incoming.

This is an brilliant initiative from Google to deliver smartphones to users who can’t afford to buy expensive ones and their earnings are less.
