Sony Xperia Z – Waterproof Google Edition Phone – 3rd Nexus Experience Device Coming

Sony Xperia Z might be the upcoming Google Edition phone, Sony’s flagship device for this year. On Google I/O 2013 Google announced the the first ‘Nexus Experience’ device Samsung Galaxy S4 on May 15. Google Edition of the phone will be running stock Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

Next, we got HTC One is coming too as a Nexus Experience device running vanilla Android without any customization. Both of the phone will be available to purchase from Google Play Store from June 26 (US only). For us in the UK we have to wait for Google to make it available outside of the US.

Sony Xperia Z phone is a beast with its specification, performance and usability running on Android OS. Special feature on this phone is it is Water and Dust resistant – IP57 certified. Yes, you heard it right, Sony Xperia Z is water resistant up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. Though Sony is releasing Xperia ZR waterproof phone this month. Another smaller screen device with more functionality and upgrade. Water resistant up to 5 meters with a dedicated camera key. This phone was released back in February this year with a nice impression.

Comes with a 5″ (inch) 1920 x 1080 Full HD display with shatter proof and scratch-resistant glass. And up to 10 fingers multi-touch supported. Boosting the performance of the display with Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2. Equipped with 13.1 MP back camera with autofocus, LED flash. Featuring Geo Tagging, Touch Focus, Face Detection, Image stabilization, HDR and Sweep Panorama. Can record 1080p Full HD video. The secondary front facing camera is 2.2 MP Full HD as well.

This phone comes with a 16 GB internal memory version and with the option to add more 64 GB via microSD slot. Running on Qualcomm processor quad-core 1.5 GHz processor and Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB RAM. Sony Xperia Z comes in 3G and 4G LTE version. Equipped with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Radio and different sensors and compass. All powered by non-removable Li-ion 2330 mAh battery.

This is not official yet. We can hope Sony will announce Sony Xperia Z Google Edition on June 25 in Germany. Sony is holding an event in Munich and will show off upcoming devices and technology.
