Manfrotto Befree Tripod with Ball Head Quick Review

I was looking for a compact and lightweight tripod for my Canon 70D and Samsung NX1. Stumbled across the internet and went through Jessops and few Currys & PC World stores. Spent a lot of time reading the description and comparing the specs & features. Was keeping an eye on maximum payload as well. After a lot of researches I went for Manfrotto Befree MKBFRA4-BH tripod and here is a quick review of it.

What’s in the Box?

  • 1 x Manfrotto Befree Tripod with Ball Head attached
  • 1 x Cover
  • 1 x Quick Release Plate 200PL-14
  • 1 x Aluminium Screw Key
  • 1 x Instruction Manual & Warranty Papers

It’s Compact & Lightweight

Tripods are essential for photography but they tend to be heavy. This Manfrotto Befree aluminium tripod with ball head weights only 1.4 kg, the best thing about it. You can fold it reverse way and it is only 40 cm when folded. It can fit in your backpack or cabin luggage. Easy to carry, therefore becomes travel friendly. Maximum fully extended size 145 cm. Comes with a tripod bag, so you don’t damage it.

This tripod is reliable for your cameras. I tested the tripod with Samsung NX1 + Samsung 20mm lens & Canon EOS 70D + Canon EF-S 18-135 mm IS STM lens. No problem for the tripod to handle this. It stays stable and reliable. It can take a total payload of 4 kg.

The ball head is quite nice and comes with a quick release plate. Easy to use and set your camera in different position. The tripod has very good reviews on Amazon and other places.

Price

Manfrotto priced this awesome lightweight and travel tripod £174.95. You can buy them from the following sites. However, on Amazon you can get it bit cheaper than other sites. Don’t forget to choose “Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.”

If you are looking for more lightweight, the Manfrotto Befree carbon fibre version weights only 1.1 kg. But, the price is £100 more than the aluminium one.

Don’t forget to register your product online to get 8 years extended warranty and it will be a total of 10 years.
