January 4th is the day that Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge exclusive specs and other info leaked online. The phone is packed with features and latest techs available. Evan Blass (@evleaks) leaked this info on VentureBeat. Both of the phones will be waterproof, will have microSD support and larger batteries than their current Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Expandable storage will be a great reason to get their next flagship. Customers will be able to increase upto 200GB with a microSD. From Android 6.0 Marshmallow, Android is supporting external storage natively. Internal storage choice is 32GB or 64GB.
A 12MP f/1.7 primary camera is there for amazing, clear & crisp images, even in low light condition. The sensor is better than any other mobile camera sensor in market at the moment. The aperture is f/1.7 which will allow more light to the sensor and is better than S6 or S6 Edge’s f/1.9 and LG G4’s f/1.8 camera. In terms of water and dust resistance the phones will be IP67 certified, which we have seen in Galaxy S5. Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge didn’t come with IP67, Samsung released Galaxy S6 Active with IP67 certification like the Galaxy S4 Active. Looks like Samsung is following and odd and even series trend.
Galaxy S7 will be 5.1″ in screen size and Galaxy S7 Edge will be in 5.5″ size. Both of the SuperAMOLED display will have 2560×1440 Quad HD resolution. The phones will be powered with 3,000 mAh and 3,600 mAh battery respectively with fast wireless charging built-in. Samsung is using their own Exynos 8890 and some version will be carrying Snapdragon 820 processors with 4GB RAM. Both of the processors 8 cores and they are 64 bit. Hopefully they will use the LPDDR4 RAM which Samsung used in their last flagship.
In terms of design, all the leaks are suggesting that the next Samsung flagship phones will be carrying similar design factor from their predecessor.
