Today at Google I/O 2015, they have announced that Google Maps Offline coming later this year. A lot of functionality coming in with offline version of maps. A user can save certain areas of Google Maps and will be able to conduct search, get information and navigation totally offline.
Google enabling some cool features to the Maps Offline. Users will be able to see reviews of a place along with rating, business opening hours and navigate to their desired destination. The offline search works like as you are using your device with internet connection. Search suggestions are enabled too.
There is no release date as of yet. They said Google Maps Offline will be available later this year. So we need to wait until they actually release this feature.
