Samsung soon releasing a firmware update for the NX1 camera. This is going to be a huge update for the camera and this will be the second update from Samsung. The update supposed to bring the firmware version to 1.2. Previous update was v1.10. The firmware update will release in “mid-January” and no other date set.
Now NX1 users can change audio levels and ISO during movie recording. Samsung also added 23.98 and 24 frames per second for UHD & FHD recording. For the first time there is Pro Quality available in the UHD video recording option menu. As of yet, it supports only High Quality video recording.
There is a new option “Trap Shot” for Samsung Auto Mode. Great for wildlife and sports photography. You can set up a guide line and if any object hit the line, NX1 will take the picture automatically. A tripod is recommended for using this mode.
Users get better key mapping function, so users can customize it based on their needs. In video recording mode users can press AEL button to lock the focus. Another great addition is Bluetooth Remote. You can use Bluetooth for shutter release without making any camera shake. Now you can add more smart devices to the NX1. While adding a new device you don’t need to delete the old one. Samsung also releasing SDK for NX1 for developers on Windows platform.
With this update Samsung NX1 will check for update automatically when connected to WiFi. The camera will support tethered shooting or recording with other device via via Samsung’s Remote Studio software. This option now available only on Windows.
