28 MP BSI APS-C CMOS Sensor
Samsung has engineered the industry’s first APS-C sensor which combines the BSI (Back Side Illuminated) technology. This structure moves the metal wiring to the back side of the photo-diode, thus delivering 30% more light than conventional sensors. In addition, Samsung has used its advanced low-copper process to make it more energy efficient. The NX1 sensor features excellent higher resolution, superior image quality and faster shooting speed with low power consumption.
4K UHD
The Samsung Smart Camera NX1 can produce outstanding still images as well as delivering professional quality video recording. It can shoot in 4K (4096 x 2160 @24fps) and UHD (3840 x 2160 @30fps), making impressive and highly detailed videos. To handle this large files the NX1 uses the greatly efficient compression codec h.265 using half the memory space compared to the h.264 but with the same quality.
Samsung AF System III
The powerful DRIMe V engine boosts AF speed up to an impressive 0.055sec. Using 205 phase detection and 153 cross-type points the NX1 can track a subject almost anywhere in the frame. It can shoot at an impressive 15fps rate and keep track of the subject even in the difficult situation when it is moving towards the camera. The systems allows for a unique feature called Auto Shot. The user can preselect an area on the display so when the subject is detected there the camera will automatically shoot.
