How to Root Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 SM-T900 Running Android 4.4.2

27th June 2015 by TLHD

Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 is an amazing big screen tablet from Samsung. Along with a large 2560×1600 resolution display it is stuffed with 3 GB RAM, 8-core processor, 32 GB internal storage along with a microSD slot. The tablet is fast and responsive but comes with a lot of bloat-ware. You can not remove them or uninstall them if your tablet is not rooted. I am using this tablet from last year with stock Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) that was shipped with the tab. I felt the device is not using all the resources and not delivering enough performance as it is capable of. I even wrote a small post on How-to make Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO 12.2 Fast. On top of that Samsung hasn’t updated the firmware to Lollipop yet and Android M preview version is knocking at the door. Using a custom or AOSP ROM provides better performance in most of the case and lets you upgrade your firmware to the latest version. Hence, I decided to root my Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 and use a custom Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) ROM. I did it successfully without any problem, I’m sharing my experience on how I did it. [Read more…]

Send Unlimited Character Twitter DMs (Direct Messages)

12th June 2015 by TLHD

Twitter has announced that they are removing the 140 character limit from Direct Messages (DM). This new feature will go live next month, on July 2015. There was always a limit on how many characters you could send via DM. So, there will be no limit and you can send as many as 10,000 characters (sounds like unlimited). Twitter made it official just yesterday July 11, 2015 morning on their developers blog.

Fix RAM Issue on Rooted Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge

10th June 2015 by TLHD

Samsung has created a pair of astonishing phones, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge this year. They are high-end premium devices with the best components available on market. The phones released with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop (which already have memory leak issue) and they were having some RAM issue. The phones have LPDDR4 3GB RAM but most of the time 2+ GB filled up with running apps. There is no official fix yet though. However, there is now a fix for the RAM issue unofficially. But, that requires your phone to be rooted. If you don’t have a rooted S6 / S6 Edge or you don’t want to root it, you need to wait for Samsung to release a firmware update addressing this issue.
