Samsung Good lock app makes the lockscreen of Galaxy phones a productive place. You can now customize and get more out of your lockscreen using the app. It works only on Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6 Active, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Note 5 running Android 6.0 Marshmallow and up. The app is available to users of United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Singapore and Korea from Galaxy Apps.
Samsung UK Started Android 6.0 Beta Testing Program for Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge
Samsung launched their Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on 14th April 2015. The phones were launched with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Now, Android has updated and Google unveiled Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, later on they released the AOSP source code. There are now few Android phones running on Android 6.0. Some of the phones are in line to get the update soon. Samsung already started in Korea and now in UK the beta testing earlier of Android 6.0 on Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge and are in line for the public release in January 2016. How to Debrand Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge
If you got your Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge from a network carrier, you also got extra apps from the network which are called bloatware. Also a network locked device gets any firmware update slower than Samsung original firmwares. Also for new features like Apps Edge you need to wait longer if you are not running Samsung original firmware. To run the original firmware and get OTA faster you need to debrand Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge. This requires flashing your phone via Odin. You shouldn’t proceed if you don’t have any sort of experience on using Odin.
How to find if your Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge came with Sony or Samsung camera sensor
Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge released with an amazing 16MP f/1.8 camera at the back. But, this phones came with two different camera sensor. One is made by Sony and the other one is by Samsung themselves. Both of them are nearly the same in real life, most of us even wouldn’t notice the difference much. Both of the sensors captures vibrant images and videos, check out the beautiful images captured with my Galaxy S6 in the early days.
Fix RAM Issue on Rooted Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge
Samsung has created a pair of astonishing phones, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge this year. They are high-end premium devices with the best components available on market. The phones released with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop (which already have memory leak issue) and they were having some RAM issue. The phones have LPDDR4 3GB RAM but most of the time 2+ GB filled up with running apps. There is no official fix yet though. However, there is now a fix for the RAM issue unofficially. But, that requires your phone to be rooted. If you don’t have a rooted S6 / S6 Edge or you don’t want to root it, you need to wait for Samsung to release a firmware update addressing this issue.
